ABOUT US
The Harrogate Dance Centre was founded by Darren Hodgson in 2004 to be the centre of excellence for Ballroom & Latin American dance tuition.
Darren is a Fellow (the highest teaching qualification) of the IDTA and has also received the John Knight award in 2019 for Latin in the Fellowship branch with the International Dance Teachers Association and his wife Jane is qualified at Associate Level.
Darren and Jane teach all the classes and private lessons together.
We are delighted to welcome complete beginners to advanced dancers.

Harrogate Dance Centre dance studio is conveniently located in Harrogate town centre, and we offer a variety of styles including Ballroom, Latin, Sequence, Argentine Tango, Rock 'n' Roll and Line Dancing.
Learning to dance is a great way to keep in shape, meet new people and to have fun!

Social Events
We run a social dance once a month on a Saturday afternoon
Venue: St Luke's Dance Studio, Franklin Square HG1 5EL
Our social dances provide the opportunity to practice what you have been learning and meet friends and other dancers.
It is a large room with a great dance floor. There is no bar but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments.

We run a monthly Saturday afternoon social dance.
Venue: Clarke Foley Centre, Ilkley, LS29 9DZ
Our Saturday afternoon dances are a mixture of Sequence, Line Dancing & Ballroom. £12 per person.
This includes a scone and tea/coffee.
Starts at 2:00pm 'til 5:00pm

Private Tuition Now Available
Private tuition gives you the full attention of our expert teachers, Darren & Jane Hodgson.
Our lessons cover all the Ballroom and Latin styles as well as Sequence, Rock 'n' Roll and Argentine Tango.
All styles can be taught at any level up to and including Professional Level.
Taking private lessons allows you to focus on the dance elements you really want to master. This is the perfect option if you want to gain confidence before joining a class, preparing for a social dance event or if you need to brush up on some particular figures you are struggling with. Private lessons are also a fantastic gift for: Birthdays, Anniversaries, Valentines or Christmas. We can arrange lessons for you at a time that suits you best.

Wedding Dance Choreograhy
Make your special day extra special by having a unique wedding dance choreographed especially for you.
You can bring your chosen music or we are able to offer advice for music, depending on what kind of dance you desire to do.

Less than 24hrs notice of cancellation - 100% of lesson fee
Less than 48hrs notice of cancellation - 50% of lesson fee
